Limerick record label OOAL present gig in converted exhibition space
The band Crayonsmith, who play in Limerick this Saturday
IN ART and theatre circles, site specific productions are hugely popular and the live music scene in Limerick is starting to sit up and take notice.
The regular Wireless Folk gig organisers were among the first to recognise, hosting gigs in interesting venues around the city, while stalwart local record label Out On A Limb are set to follow suit with a gig in Ormston House on Patrick Street - a former retail unit converted into a 2100 sq foot art exhibition space - this Saturday night.
OOAL are purveyors of eclectic music and have impeccable tastes, and both of Saturday’s acts are currently on the label’s roster.
Crayonsmith (pictured) are among OOAL’s finest acts, an electro driven three piece whose 2008 offering White Wonder remains among our favourite Irish releases of recent years.
Cork outfit Elk - who released a split 7” single on OOAL with Crayonsmith - complete the bill this Saturday in Ormston House on the city’s Patrick Street.
OOAL present Crayonsmith/Elk @ Ormston House - Patrick Street, Saturday January 28 @ 7.30pm. Tickets €7/5
