PICTURE SLIDESHOW: Launch of UCH panto Cinderella

Waiting for Video...

TWINK will make her first panto appearance in over 12 years in Limerick’s University Concert Hall this Christmas.

Twink - Adele King - will star alongside Dustin the Turkey, Fair City’s George McMahon, Voice star Richie Hayes and local trio Richard Lynch, Myles Breen and the glamorous Leanne Moore in the major production, which opens on December 21.

Emma Foote, marketing manager in the UCH, said that “the fact that Twink has chosen Limerick to make that comeback is very special”.

Of the decision to stage the panto in association with producer Robert C Kelly, Ms Foote said it was “very special” as Cinderella would mark the venue’s 20th anniversary.

“Community and family are very important, as well as getting the biggest names in international entertainment. It is special for us as the panto will mark the UCH’s 20th year in January,” she said.

Limerick lass Leanne, who will turn on the city’s Christmas lights on Friday at 6pm, said securing the starring role in the panto was “absolutely brilliant”.

“To be at home for Christmas and on home turf is great, but also I think it is just absolutely sensational to get something like this into Limerick city because Cork and Dublin have their professional pantos, so why not Limerick?”

See UCH for bookings.
