THE funeral arrangements have been announced for the young man who died in a road crash in Corbally yesterday morning.

Paul Doran, 22, from Nicholas Street died when the Chevrolet car he was driving collided with a pole at Corbally Road shortly before 5am. There was nobody else in the car at the time.

Mr Doran, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mid Western Regional Hospital, is survived by his parents Margaret and Pat and his brothers Daniel and Keith.

Cllr John Gilligan said the entire community around Nicholas Street is saddened by the tragedy. “It is very sad, he was a young man and he had so much to live for. He comes from a well-respected family who are very well known in the locality,” he said.

Paul Doran’s removal will take place from Griffin’s Funeral Home tomorrow evening and his funeral will take place at 11am on Monday at St Mary’s Church, Athlunkard Street.

Mayorstone garda are investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash.
