Key Limerick street no longer served by Bus Eireann
Anger over cuts to services: Sean Griffin
SINN Fein spokesman for the southside Sean Griffin has called on Bus Eireann to reinstate a service to Edward Street.
When the city’s bus network was revamped last month, it meant Edward Street, Quin’s Cottages and the old Donnellan’s buildings were left without a bus link.
Before this, the state bus provider offered a twice hourly service.
Mr Griffin joined Cllr Maurice Quinlivan in meeting Bus Eireann regional manager Miriam Flynn, who agreed to relay their concerns to the National Transport Authority.
They also highlighted the reduction in service to Ballynanty.
The impasse has left Mr Griffin disappointed.
“Unfortunately we would not hold out much hope that this service will be restored in the near future. Its return depends on further resources becoming available.”
