Adare Manor, part of an all-Ireland bid for business

Adare Manor was one of 30 tourism-centred groups from around the country who pitched for new business in Las Vegas when the second-ever IMEX America event took place there last week. IMEX, the International Meetings and Events Exhibition, attracted over 2,000 North American buyers and key decision makers in the tourism industry.

The event also offered Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort and Tourism Ireland the chance to highlight The Gathering Ireland 2013 to top-level tourism representatives as well as showcasing the opportunities for business travel to Ireland for conferences and meetings.

”Overall, business sentiment at the show was very positive, with interest in Ireland for conferences and incentive travel remaining high and advance business for 2013 and 2014 looking good,” Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s vice-president of marketing in the US said after the three-day event.

Business tourism remains the most lucrative form of tourism, with visitors travelling here for business purposes spending about 2.5 times more than the average visitor. Last year, approximately 7.3 million overseas visitors came to the island of Ireland.
