A LIMERICK prison officer who worked at the jail for close to 30 years has admitted having drugs for sale or supply there last year.
At Limerick Circuit Criminal Court today, 51-year-old Thomas Corry of Aughrim, Scariff, Co Clare pleaded guilty to four separate charges.

When the case involving the father of three was called, defence barrister Anthony Sammon said Mr Corry wished to be arraigned.

Mr Corry pleaded guilty to four offences of having quantities of cannabis resin and cocaine and prescription drugs; alprazolam and diazapam for sale or supply on March 16 last.

With no objection from the State, Mr Corry was remanded on continuing bail conditions. He will be sentenced this Friday.
